Statements, reports and onomastic services

The Institute’s experts issue statements and give in-depth reports on standard language, plain language, “EU Finnish”, and toponyms and proper names. The statements are usually subject to a charge.

Experts on onomastics can be commissioned to check place names used in maps, atlases, reference books, textbooks and electronic material, as well as names in zoned areas and road names in rural areas.

The service is available in Finnish and in Swedish.
